Autumn 2018

The Spot On Teams Season Highlights: Co-director Rob

As we count down to the first show of Autumn we’re asking the Spot On team which shows they’re most looking forward to this season – and getting to know who they are and what they do a bit better! In our final highlights blog before the season kicks off this Saturday co-director Rob tells us which show he is most looking forward to this season!

1. Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Rob and I am the co-director of Culturapedia, the company that brings Spot On Lancashire to audiences across the country. I tend to deal with some of the boring stuff like finances and contracts but I also stick my nose into programming and commissioning.

2. Which show are you most looking forward to and why?

I’m really looking forward to 1,000 Places. I went to college with Aidan Jolly many years ago. We’ve kept in touch socially and our professional paths have crossed a number of times through mailout magazine and various other projects we’ve worked on in the past. This is the first time that he’s been involved with Spot On. He’s a really talented musician whose music is grounded in the people and places that he encounters. Along with Gigi Serafina and Jaydev Mistry they are playing two libraries this season. I can’t wait to see them enliven Lancashire’s libraries in November

3. If somebody has never been to a rural touring show before why should they take a chance?

Rural and library touring is a real treat. We bring the best artists to the communities so you don’t have to travel to and park in the big city. We only work with the best quality artists so there is no compromise on quality. You get to see amazing work in cosy, intimate and familiar spaces and have an amazing night out.

1,000 Places comes to Lancashire Thursday 15th and Friday 16th November
