Box of Tricks is very sorry to have had to make the difficult decision to postpone their national tour of Chip Shop Chips. They sought funds from Arts Council England to help make the show affordable to community venues in places where people struggle to access high quality art. Despite the application scoring as ‘Strong’ in all categories and being recommended for funding, competition was high and funds limited.
Spot On hope to welcome them back in the future.
Adam Quayle of Box of Tricks says: “We are really sorry to have made such a difficult decision. Chip Shop Chips was developed to engage audiences at the heart of local communities and we were excited about bringing our acclaimed show back and touring to new audiences. However, as a small company reliant on project funding, we are unable to deliver the show without securing subsidy. We hope to remount the show in 2018. Watch this space!”
